10 years ago I started an organizing business to help people systematize and simplify their lives. I noticed that many of my clients had boxes and piles and bags of photos stashed somewhere in their homes. Photographs are among the most prized possessions we have, nothing connects us to the past like a photo. But they also cause a lot of stress and anxiety for people that don't have the time or the patience to organize them into books so everyone can enjoy looking at them. Nothing makes me happier than to present a client with a set of finished books that chronicles their family history and helps them maintain that history in the future.
Ever since I was a child, photos were an obsession for me. I loved trying to piece together stories and guessing at personalities from other people's pictures. I spent many weekends organizing and editing pictures, making albums for myself as well as for friends and family, so it was a natural progression for me to do this for my clients. Now I work exclusively on photo and scrapbook projects. Archiving your family history is important, fun and creative and I am here to help with the overwhelming fear of "Where do I start?!?"
The professional organization field is a fast growing industry with its own association, the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) of which I have been a member for the last five years. I operate out of my home in New York City where space and clutter are particularly problematic.
